Bluffton University has received more than $9,000 in Source Reduction Grant funding from the 2026 Recycle Ohio Grant Program, which is administered by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) Office of Environmental Education. The funding will allow the university to install six reusable water bottle units on campus to support the environment and reduce waste.
According to an article on Bluffton University’s website, Kathy Dickson, who serves as the senior director of advancement and special projects at the university, was quoted as saying, “We are grateful to the Ohio EPA for investing in projects that encourage environmental stewardship and sustainability. This funding will help Bluffton continue creating meaningful opportunities for students and the campus community to engage in responsible environmental practices.”
The grant will allow the university to install six reusable water bottle units at various locations around campus, giving students, faculty, and staff the ability to help reduce waste and support the environment through sustainability.
The Source Reduction Grant is awarded to communities, businesses, nonprofits, and academic institutions that implement or expand their recycling programs, support litter prevention efforts, encourage environmental stewardship, or stimulate economic growth.
