Walsh University introduces WU Promise Grant

The grant will provide a tuition-free Walsh University education for eligible students.

Walsh University has introduced a new grant, called the WU Promise Grant, that will make a university education more affordable and accessible for more students. Incoming first-year students beginning with the Fall 2026 semester will be able to apply for the grant, which would provide them with a tuition-free Walsh University education, if they meet eligibility requirements.

According to an article on Walsh University's website, Rebecca Coneglio, who serves as the university’s Vice President for Enrollment Management, was quoted as saying of the launch of the new grant, “We believe that a student’s potential—not their financial circumstances—should define their future. The WU Promise Grant reflects our commitment to expanding access and opportunity, helping students who have worked hard and achieved academic success pursue their college dreams and reach their goals.”

The WU Promise Grant is intended to help more academically talented students be able to attend college and earn a degree, despite financial challenges.

In order to be eligible to apply for the WU Promise Grant, students must file a FAFSA by the priority deadline and qualify for a Pell Grant. They must also be an Ohio resident, have a high school grade point average of at least 3.75, enroll at Walsh University as a first-year, full time, traditional student, and have a family income of less than $65,000. If the student resides more than 45 miles away from the university’s campus, they must live on campus.

If students remain enrolled full time, are making progress toward their bachelor degree, and remain in good academic standing, the grant is renewable for up to eight semesters.
