The partnership will provide professional development opportunities for K-12 educators, as well as resources for students.
Campbellsville University has partnered with the Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative to provide K-12 educators with resources and professional development opportunities aimed at improving student success outcomes. As of October 1, 2025, the Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative has had its own space within the university’s Conover Education Center to host workshops, seminars, and training opportunities to help teachers learn how to best educate their students, integrate technology into classrooms, and innovate their teaching strategies.
According to an article on Campbellsville University’s website, David Young, who serves as the CEO of Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative, was quoted as saying of the new partnership, “At CKEC, we place a high priority on providing training and support that reflects best practices that have been around for years, as well as cutting-edge strategies based on the most current research. We serve a wide region, so the addition of the Harrodsburg campus will make us much more accessible to our southern districts. In addition, the potential of new partnership possibilities with Campbellsville University in this space is really exciting and energizing to both us and our school districts. We can’t wait to explore these new opportunities.”
To celebrate the beginning of the partnership, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 29 for the CKEC space in the Conover Education Center. Per the partnership agreement, CKEC will use the space to provide training to all K-12 educators in the region in topics that range from leadership to student support services. These professional development opportunities have been designed to enhance teacher education as well as student education. Teachers will cover curriculum development, student engagement techniques, and the integration of technology into the classroom.
These workshops and information sessions will be offered both in person at the Conover Education Center and through virtual seminars to ensure the content is accessible to all of the region’s K-12 educators.
Dr. Joseph Hopkins, the president of Campbellsville University, said of the partnership, “This partnership reflects our shared mission to equip and empower Kentucky educators for student success. By sharing our resources and expertise, Campbellsville University is proud to serve as a partner in advancing innovative practices that benefit students and educational leaders across the region.”
