The new sites are at the Dickson campus at the Dickson County Center for Higher Education and the Clarksville campus. These two new sites join the White Bridge campus, which currently offers the program, to expand access to nursing education in the region.
Nashville State Community College has recently received approval from the Tennessee Board of Nursing for two new sites of instruction for the Associate of Science Nursing program. The program is currently offered at the college’s White Bridge campus, and the recent approvals will bring the program to the under-construction Dickson campus in the Spring 2026 semester and to the Clarksville campus for the Fall 2026 semester.
The program coming to the under-construction Dickson campus is the result of a collaboration between Nashville State Community College and TriStar Horizon Medical Center, which donated nine acres of land to the school for the Dickson campus. While the new campus is not set to open until the Fall 2026 semester, the Associate of Science Nursing program will begin operating at the TriStar Horizon Medical Center next door in January 2026.
According to an article on Nashville State Community College’s website about the instructional site approval for the Dickson campus, Donna Whitehouse, dean of the School of Health Sciences, was quoted as saying, “Nashville State working to bring its nursing program to the Dickson campus reflects our deep commitment to meeting community and workforce needs and providing opportunities that lead to successful careers. This collaboration with TriStar Horizon Medical Center highlights the power of partnerships in creating meaningful educational pathways. It also directly benefits students who are eager to pursue rewarding healthcare careers close to home.”
Wyatt Chocklett, who serves as the chief executive officer of TriStar Horizon Medical Center, said of the collaboration, “TriStar Horizon Medical Center is pleased to partner with Nashville State to host the Spring 2026 nursing cohort as the Dickson County Center for Higher Education construction continues. We are honored to play a role in the collective commitment to developing the future generation of the healthcare workforce in our community.”
Applications are currently open for the Associate of Science Nursing degree program at Nashville State Community College’s Dickson campus, and the application window will close on October 1. The program will accept 24 students for the first term.
According to an article on Nashville State Community College’s website that discusses the instructional site approval for the Clarksville campus, Whitehouse said, “We are excited to bring our nursing program to Clarksville, reflecting our commitment to meeting community and workforce needs. This expansion benefits students who are eager to pursue training and rewarding healthcare careers close to home.”
The Clarksville campus is currently undergoing construction, including expansions and renovations. The renovations will provide students and the community with a better experience and with more education opportunities. Phase One of the construction will be complete by the end of 2025, and Phase Two will finish by the end of 2026.
The Associate of Science Nursing program will launch at the Clarksville campus with the Fall 2026 semester. The program will accept 24 students for the first term, with applications opening from January 2 to June 1, 2026.
