The prosthetics and orthotics leader is partnering with the university for an event that will give individuals of all levels of movement the chance to participate in community and connection.
Eastern Michigan University is holding a free event on September 27, 2025 in collaboration with Ottobock North America, a prosthetics and orthotics leader. The event, called Full Circle Movement, is open to everyone of all levels of mobility, and will give participants the opportunity to experience supportive community movement. The event will occur on the same weekend as the university’s “The Athlete’s Corner” continuing education class, which will give participants hands-on training with improving running prostheses.
According to an article on Eastern Michigan University’s website, Rebecca Spragg, who is the director of the university’s orthotics and prosthetics program, was quoted as saying, “The EMU Orthotics and Prosthetics program aims to provide students with hands-on experiences to elevate their education and impact the community. The Full Circle Movement event is one way we can make a difference in the lives of our students and our local community.”
The Full Circle Movement event will take place from 12pm to 5pm on September 27 at the Olds/Marshall/Parks Outdoor Track in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The event is inclusive and provides supportive community movement for individuals with limb differences or those who are prosthesis users. The event will give students in the university’s orthotics and prosthetics program the opportunity to view how prosthetics fit and work on prosthesis users outside of a clinical setting.
Lucas Crisanti, who serves as a clinical specialist and coach at Ottobock North America, said of the organization’s partnership with the university, “At Ottobock, we believe movement is for everyone. Partnering with Eastern allows us to reach future O&P leaders while empowering the limb loss and limb difference community through Full Circle Movement. It’s about building bridges between education, innovation, and inclusion.”
In addition to the Full Circle Movement event, there is also a related event happening on September 26. The university is hosting a continuing education course called “The Athlete’s Corner” at the Student Center. The course will give practicing clinicians three continuing education credits to learn about fitting and optimizing prosthetics.
