Potomac State College of West Virginia University receives gift to support student athletes

The gift will provide scholarships and financial assistance to students who participate in Catamount Athletics programs.

Potomac State College of West Virginia University has received a WVU Potomac State College General Athletics gift from WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital that will provide financial support to student athletes who are participating in Catamount Athletics programs. The gift was received via the WVU Foundation.

According to an article on Potomac State College of West Virginia University’s website, Director of Athletics Mandi Larkin expressed gratitude for the financial gift, noting that the hospital’s support extends beyond solely financial. Larkin is quoted as saying, “We are thrilled that WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital has continued to support Catamount Athletics. Their support extends beyond a financial gift, with our student-athletes finding care from WVU Medicine doctors and physical therapy staff as they navigate the rigors of being a collegiate student-athlete.”

Echoing these sentiments, Director of Development at Potomac State College Megan Webb said, “We extend our sincerest gratitude to our partners at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital for their generous commitment to support Catamount Athletics. Your sponsorship plays a vital role in enhancing the success of our student-athletes, both in the classroom and during competition.”

Amy Boothe, Ph.D., who is the vice president and CFO/COO of WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital, said, “We are happy to support the many students at Potomac State College who participate in the various athletic programs. Potomac State plays an important role in our community, and we recognize the importance of athletics and team participation in the college experience.”
