Lee University and Lincoln Memorial University partner for guaranteed pre-med interviews

The partnership will guarantee that Lee University pre-med students are guaranteed to receive an interview for admission to Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Lee University pre-med students will now be guaranteed an interview for admittance to the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University. The universities partnered to provide Lee University students with a pathway toward medical school that eliminates one of the hurdles that typically comes along with that experience: earning an interview.

According to an article on Lee University’s website, Dr. Paul DeLaLuz, who serves as the chair of the Department of Natural Sciences at Lee University, was quoted as saying of the new agreement, “The philosophy embodied by the osteopathic wellness approach of the whole person aligns very closely with the desires of many of Lee’s students. LMU’s medical program offers a vision of care that recognizes a person as a body, mind, and spirit, and that treatment should embrace compassionate, patient-centered care, which is highly valued by Lee’s student body. I am excited that Lee and LMU’s shared values have allowed us to partner more closely with this agreement.”

The agreement has made it so that there are an unlimited number of interview spots available at Lincoln Memorial University's DCOM for Lee University pre-med students who have been deemed to be qualified. The pre-med program at Lee University works to prepare students for success in admission interviews at medical schools. The agreement does not guarantee admission to the program, only that the students will be interviewed and considered for admission. In the past, pre-med students from Lee University have been accepted to and have continued their medical education at LMU-DCOM.

Dr. Christopher Loyke, who is the dean and chief academic officer of LMU-DCOM, said of the agreement, “We are thrilled to establish this partnership with Lee University, providing a seamless pathway for their students to pursue medical education at LMU-DCOM. These articulation agreements not only expand our applicant pool but also help us attract dedicated and talented future physicians. We are excited to see Lee University students take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to seeing them excel in their medical careers.”
