The Eagle Express Joint Admission Agreement was initially signed by both institutions in 2022 and makes it simpler for Ashland Community and Technical College students to pursue a four-year degree at Morehead State University.
Ashland Community and Technical College and Morehead State University’s Eagle Express Joint Admission Agreement has made it possible for students who have completed an associate degree at ACTC to take classes for Morehead State University’s Bachelor of Social Work program on Ashland’s campus.
According to an article on Ashland Community and Technical College’s website, Mary Claire Williams, who is the Social Work Program Facilitator/Instructor at Morehead State University, explained how the agreement will benefit students. She is quoted as saying, “Having the BSW program at ACTC, provides students with an opportunity to earn a BSW degree from a challenging and accredited social work program right in their own community.” She continued, “Our hybrid program allows flexibility for students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend our main campus due to transportation issues, full time employment, or a busy family schedule.”
The program is delivered in a hybrid format, meaning the students who are participating will have a mixture of in-person and online courses. Their in-person courses will take place at Ashland Community and Technical College two days a week.
As part of the Eagle Express Joint Admission Agreement, students will find it a smoother transition to move from Ashland Community and Technical College to Morehead State University. Advisors from both institutions will be available to collaborate and assist, their transcripts will be easily evaluated by each school, and if the student is eligible, they will automatically receive the Kentucky Transfer Scholarship.
