Rolled out in 2022, the first iteration of the schools’ agreement was limited to only students pursuing engineering. It now encompasses almost all academic programs with a few exceptions.
Vincennes University and the University of Evansville have expanded and enhanced the Guaranteed Admission Agreement the two have partnered on since 2022. The modified agreement ecompasses almost all available degree programs instead of only engineering, and now includes a scholarship that will give eligible students up to $10,000 a semester for five semesters.
According to an article on Vincennes University’s website, the Manager of Transfer Admission at the University of Evansville, Cherie Leonhardt, was quoted as saying of the newly updated agreement, "The Guaranteed Admission Agreement between the University of Evansville and Vincennes University is a testament to our shared commitment to educational excellence and accessibility. This partnership will hopefully open the door for more transfer pathways between our schools which will streamline the transition for VU students and provide them with substantial financial support as they pursue their academic goals."
The new Guaranteed Admissions Agreement takes effect with the Fall 2025 semester. In order to be eligible, a Vincennes University student must graduate with an associate degree in any field, minus a few exceptions, and have maintained a 2.5 grade point average. Those meeting the requirements are guaranteed admission into the University of Evansville.
In addition to the guaranteed admission, the students will also be able to take advantage of a $10,000 per semester scholarship that they can renew for up to five semesters.
Dr. Chuck Johnson, the president of VIncennes University, said, "We are proud to see VU Trailblazers take advantage of these types of collaborations. We are confident in our graduates and pleased to see their efforts rewarded through these opportunities.”
