East Tennessee State University and Mayland Community College of Spruce Pine, North Carolina have signed an agreement that will make it easier for Mayland Community College graduates to earn a bachelor degree in the Human Services field from East Tennessee State University.

According to an article on East Tennessee State University’s website, Dr. Phyllis Thompson, who serves as the chair of Counseling and Human Services at ETSU, shared her thoughts on the agreement and the benefits it will provide, saying, “The articulation agreement between ETSU and MCC in the field of Human Services allows us to partner as we put into action the missions of both schools to serve our communities and improve the quality of life for the people of the region and beyond.”

The agreement, which was signed on July 23, allows for students who have earned their associate of applied science degree in Human Services from Mayland Community College to transfer their credits to East Tennessee State University seamlessly to earn a bachelor degree in Human Services. We look forward to seeing our graduates thrive at ETSU and beyond,” said Dr. John Boyd, the president of Mayland Community College.
