Lincoln Memorial University’s Caylor School of Nursing opens new Keeneland Health Education Center in partnership with CHI Saint Joseph Health

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, the new health education center will give LMU nursing students a place to train with current technology and access to quality nursing education.

On July 10, the Keeneland Health Education Center, a building constructed via a partnership between Lincoln Memorial University’s Caylor School of Nursing and CHI Saint Joseph Health, had its grand opening ceremony. The new facility is designed to meet the needs of students pursuing nursing education and the local community’s healthcare needs by providing up-to-date technology for nursing training.

According to an article on Lincoln Memorial University’s website, Tammy Dean, DNP, RN, CNE, who serves as the dean of the Caylor School of Nursing, said of the new education center, “We are thrilled to open our new nursing facility in Lexington. This expansion, in partnership with CHI Saint Joseph Health, represents our commitment to providing exceptional education and training to our nursing students, who will go on to make significant contributions to health care in our community and beyond.”

CHI Saint Joseph Health is part of CommonSpirit Health, a health system with more than 100 locations throughout Kentucky. With its large number of facilities and wide array of services offered, from primary care to specialty clinics, the health system is dedicated to providing Kentucky residents with top-notch healthcare.

Melissa Bennett, DHA, FACHE, who is both the chief operating officer and chief nursing executive for CHI Saint Joseph Health, commented on the new facility and the benefits the community and Lincoln Memorial University will see from it, saying, “At CHI Saint Joseph Health, we recognize the need for additional opportunities for students to advance their nursing education. Working with Lincoln Memorial University, we are pleased to provide another avenue to fill that need, while at the same time address the persistent nursing shortage we face not only in Kentucky, but across the U.S.”

The Keeneland Health Education Center has a number of amenities that will positively contribute to the level of nursing education Lincoln Memorial University students will receive. The center has a simulation lab, interactive classrooms, collaboration spaces, and top of the line technology.
