Central Michigan University has received a $74,800 Quick Start grant from the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential. The Quick Start grant will give Central Michigan University the means to evaluate its current Innovation and Online Division infrastructure to provide support and remove barriers for adult learners who are enrolled at the university.

According to an article on Central Michigan University’s website, Dr. Kaleb Patrick serves as the interim Vice President of Innovation and Online. Of the grant award, Dr. Patrick said, "We are fully committed to inspiring student success and innovation. This grant aligns seamlessly with our strategic priorities and underscores our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our adult student population."

As part of the grant, the Innovation and Online Division will complete a self-assessment and solicit feedback from students in order to solve barriers that may be standing in the way of adult learners finding the support they need to continue their education.

Based on the findings of the assessments, the division will be enhanced and altered to better meet the needs of adult students.
