Schoolcraft College and Oakland University introduce bridge program for students to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The partnership will provide an easy pathway for Schoolcraft College students to transfer to Oakland University and finish up their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Schoolcraft College has partnered with Oakland University on a bridge program that will save students time and money as they work toward completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

According to an article on Schoolcraft College’s website, Dr. Laurie Kattuah-Snyder, who serves as the Chief Student Services Officer at Schoolcraft College, was quoted sharing her excitement for the new program and what it will mean for students as they work toward their goals. Dr. Kattuah-Snyder said, “This completion program is another great opportunity for our students to further their education and help achieve their goals. Partnering with a premier institution such as Oakland University is a win-win for both our institutions. I am excited at the opportunities this program will offer for our students.”

Students who earn their Associate Degree in Nursing at Schoolcraft College will now have an easier and cheaper way to earn their bachelor degree through the bridge program. Once obtaining their ADN, students need to pass the NCLEX, complete the Michigan Transfer Agreement requirements, and complete the requirements of ENG 102: Composition II. Once those requirements are satisfied, students can attend Oakland University for their final 32 credits and receive their bachelor degree for under $10,000.

Kim Holka, DNP, MSA, RN, CNE, PHNA-BC, who is Oakland University School of Nursing’s Special Instructor and RN-BSN Coordinator, noted that this opportunity will open doors for students. “OU School of Nursing alumni who have completed their BSN are prepared to elevate their careers and begin their dream jobs,” she said.
