Clark State College receives grant from Ohio Department of Higher Education

The Super RAPIDS Grant from the ODHE focuses on workforce development through education.

Clark State College has received $720,000 in grant funding from the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Super RAPIDS Grant program. The Super RAPIDS Grant program strengthens area workforce development initiatives by providing funding to strengthen education and remove barriers to entry.

According to an article on Clark State College’s website, Dr. Scott Dolan, who is the dean of health, human and public services at Clark State College, is quoted as discussing what the grant funding will be used for, and how it will improve the experience of students, saying, “HHPS is leveraging this funding to purchase new hospital beds for all of the STNA/Nursing Skills labs; as well we will be purchasing a much-needed OBGYN simulator for the DMS program. This will help to ensure that all students in the DMS program receive much needed training in working with the OBGYN patient.”

In addition, a portion of the funding will go toward purchasing Anatomage tables, which is a 3D visualization tool for anatomy and physiology courses.

The funding will also be utilized within the School of Business and Applied Technologies. Dean Dr. Adam Parrillo said, “The equipment being acquired will enhance our Directed Learning Lab (DLL) approach which enables a more flexible path to acquiring the industrial maintenance knowledge and in-demand skills needed by industry partners. More than just serving industry, we expect this equipment to further strengthen our collaborations with high schools and career centers by making this training equipment available in College Credit Plus pathways.”

The funding will allow for equipment upgrades at various Clark State College campuses, leading to better workforce training for students pursuing careers in many industries.
