Those employed by Tennessee Oncology can take the training course for free.
In partnership with Tennessee Oncology, Nashville State Community College will begin offering a free Medical Assistant Certification training program to employees of Tennessee Oncology. This move comes as the first phase of a new mission between the two institutions to help prepare the healthcare workforce in the area.
According to an article on Nashville State Community College’s website, John Cunningham, who serves as the director of Healthcare Partnerships for Nashville State’s Center for Workforce Development & Continuing Education, said of the development, Nashville State continuously looks to work with private, governmental, and non-profit organizations to develop and support workforce staffing needs. With this Medical Assistant program, we are tailoring this program to fit the needs of Tennessee Oncology.”
The course that Nashville State Community College is offering to employees of Tennessee Oncology is one that will prepare individuals to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam, which is a great benefit to Tennessee Oncology, as it continually searches for certified medical assistants to become part of its staff. Offering its current employees the opportunity to train ahead of the certification exam will help ensure the staff is ready to become certified.
Natalie Dickson, MD, who is the president of Tennessee Oncology, spoke positively of the partnership, saying, “Offering our employees enrichment opportunities to advance their careers is an important aspect of why Tennessee Oncology is consistently an employer of choice in the medical field. This program brings an excellent opportunity for our medical assistants to prepare for their CCMA exam, receive their certification and advance their careers. We’re proud to partner with Nashville State Community College on this initiative.”
