The Workforce Ready Grant in Indiana, which allows students to attain a certificate in certain career fields, has approved the Indiana Institute of Technology as an education provider for the fourth year. The school has also added five new courses to their offerings.
Indiana’s Workforce Ready Grant has once again approved Indiana Institute of Technology as an education provider. The Workforce Ready Grant is part of Indiana’s Next Level Jobs program. The program provides residents of Indiana with free training in in-demand and high-paying industries such as information technology, business, health sciences, construction, manufacturing, and more.
Students who qualify for the Next Level Jobs program can have up to the entire cost of an undergraduate certificate from Indiana Tech covered by the Workforce Ready Grant. This is the fourth year that Indiana Tech has been awarded funding from the grant, and the school has also seen continuous growth of the program. Indiana Tech has also had five new certificates approved to its Workforce Ready programming this year: Programming, Medical Coding, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Additive Manufacturing. So far, more than 200 students have graduated with an undergraduate certificate from Indiana Tech without having to pay any money out of pocket because of the Workforce Ready Grant.
In an article posted on Indiana Institute of Technology’s website, the vice president for enrollment management, Steve Herendeen, talked about the programming, saying, “Our industry-focused undergraduate certificates are designed to help students build the skills and knowledge they need to be ready for the jobs of the future. We’re pleased to receive funding for this program for a fourth year. It’s exciting to see so many students advance their skills and their careers, thanks to the Workforce Ready Grant and the Next Level Jobs program.”
The current Workforce Ready Grant-approved programs at the school are Production Management, Information Technology, Basic Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Programming, Management, Cybersecurity, Construction Management, Health Care Administration, Human Resources Management, Medical Coding, Additive Manufacturing, Organizational Leadership, and Marketing.
In order to be eligible for funding from the Workforce Ready Grant, students must meet the following requirements: complete the FAFSA, be enrolled at least half time for certain programs, or full time for others, maintain academic progress sufficient to the program, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have no college degree, be a resident of Indiana and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, and enroll in a qualifying training program at an eligible training provider.
Indiana Institute of Technology offers a range of career-focused degree programs and certificates in a format based around accommodating busy schedules. Students can take only one six-week online class at a time and still make quick progress toward degree or certificate completion.
