Three members added to the Northern Michigan University Foundation

The Board of Directors of the Northern Michigan University Foundation recently welcomed three new members to its ranks: William H. Hawker (‘95 BS of Green Bay, Wisconsin), John G. Gauthier (‘03 AB, ‘07 BS of Wixon, Michigan), and Elizabeth L. Beck (‘03 BS of Columbia City, Indiana). These three new board members will add their expertise in community engagement, professional sports, business development, cybersecurity, technology, and corporate leadership. All three join the board already with strong connections to Northern Michigan University.

Hawker currently serves as the director of business development at Elevate97, a brand execution and marketing services firm. Prior to that position he worked at the vice president of corporate partnerships for the Detroit Lions as well as a number of corporate sales leadership positions for the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Wildcat Football Club, and was formerly a member of the Northern Michigan University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He obtained his bachelor of science degree from Northern in the field of recreation and sports administration back in 1995.

Gauthier currently serves as the vice president of global IT at Auria Solutions where he is in charge of cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise systems, and technology strategy. Prior to that position, he served in a range of IT leadership positions with Key Plastics, Nippon Seiki, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He obtained his associate degree in computer information systems before getting his bachelor of science degree in network computing from Northern. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in information assurance at Eastern Michigan University. 

Beck currently serves as the general counsel and vice president of CTB, Inc., where she is in charge of the internal and domestic legal affairs of the company. She has been with the company for the past 16 years, and was promoted into her current role five years ago. She is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Michigan. Prior to her current role she had served as a judicial clerk in private practice. She obtained her bachelor of science degree in 2003 from Northern Michigan University in pre-law and political science before going on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University College of Law four years later.

The Northern Michigan University Foundation’s mission is to further the priorities of the University’s students, and the University itself through monetary philanthropic support. Board members of the Foundation provide advocacy, expertise, and leadership with the goal of making the school stronger while also developing new opportunities for future and student students.
