Lorain County Community College launches Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program for Fall 2026 semester
The new program is an RN-to-BSN that includes online courses and flexibility that will help those with busy schedules complete their education.
Lorain County Community College has a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program that begins with the Fall 2026 semester. It is a flexible online RN-to-BSN program that will give those working in a healthcare profession the ability to complete their nursing degree around their work schedule. The new bachelor degree program joins several other nursing education options at Lorain County Community College.
According to an article on Lorain County Community College’s website, Marcia J. Ballinger, Ph.D, the college’s president, was quoted as saying, “LCCC has a long history of preparing highly skilled nurses through a rigorous associate degree program that leads to strong licensure and employment outcomes. The addition of the RN-to-BSN program allows graduates to continue their education seamlessly at an affordable cost while helping meet the growing demand for highly qualified nursing professionals across Northeast Ohio. LCCC meets students where they are and delivers education that fits the realities of their lives. By offering online coursework and multiple pacing options, we are making it easier for working nurses to continue their education, strengthen their skills, and advance their careers.”
The new program offers online courses and flexible scheduling options that give students the ability to select from three different pacing options. Students can take 6-7 credit hours per semester, 9-11 credit hours per semester, or 13-15 credit hours per semester. The program will allow students to strengthen their nursing skills, leadership skills, and decision-making skills.
The Fall 2026 semester starts on August 24, 2026, and there are two upcoming information sessions available for those who wish to learn more about the new bachelor degree program. These sessions will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Other related programs the college offers include Paramedic, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Practical Nursing (LPN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
The college gained approval from the Higher Learning Commission and the Ohio Department of Higher Education to offer this new bachelor degree program, bringing the college’s total number of bachelor degree programs to three. The two others are the Bachelor of Applied Science in Microelectronic Manufacturing and the Bachelor of Applied Science in Smart Industrial Automated Systems Engineering.
