Dr. Monica Hardin has been promoted from Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs at Campbellsville University to Associate Provost and Administrative Dean of the College of Arts and Science.
Dr. Monica Hardin has recently been named as Campbellsville University’s new Associate Provost and Administrative Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Hardin joined Campbellsville back in 2024 as an associate professor of History. In the past two years, Dr. Hardin has become a cherished member of the school’s staff and students due to her tireless service. She became the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and acting dean the same year she joined the university. In just two years at Campbellsville she has once again been promoted to Associate Provost and Administrative Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
As associate provost, Dr. Hardin will use her experience as a higher education professional to lead the College of Arts and Sciences. The College of Arts and Sciences is one of the four major colleges in Campbellsville’s academic body and contains within it the School of the Arts, the School of Theology, the School of Education, and the School of Humanities and Sciences.
Dr. Harden will watch over the implementation of new academic programs such as the recently announced agriculture degree, as well as research done through the College. She will also be tasked with aiding in fundraising opportunities as well as connecting with international university partnerships.
Dr. Hardin has spent more than 20 years working in higher education, and according to an article posted on the school’s website, is ready for her new position. She said, “It is a privilege to be trusted with more responsibility. CU holds a unique position in higher education-its culture of creativity, agility, and ingenuity is uncommon. I get to do purposeful work with and for people I respect and trust, and I am grateful for the opportunity.”
Dr. Jeanette Parker is the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Campbellsville and spoke to her excitement of being able to work with Dr. Hardin, saying, “Dr. Monica Hardin brings a wealth of experience from a variety of academic settings in both faculty and administrative roles. She is a creative team member and a skilled leader. I am grateful for her innovative spirit, problem-solving skills, and sense of humor. This role capitalizes on her ability to see the broad University vision and bring us together to pursue our mission and serve students. CU is blessed to have her.”
Dr. Hardin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Ouachita University back in 1998. She then went on to obtain her Master of Arts in History five years later, before finally earning her Ph.D. in History in 2006, both of which she gained from Florida State University.
