The 90-credit-hour online degree programs have been introduced as a faster and more affordable alternative to traditional 120-credit-hour online degree programs.
Indiana Wesleyan University has announced its new Fast Forward online degree programs, which can be completed in 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120 credit hours. The new Fast Forward programs are rolling out in the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters, with additional options planned to launch in the coming years.
According to an article on Indiana Wesleyan University's website, Jon Kulaga, Ph.D., who serves as the university’s president, was quoted as saying of the new online degree options, “As a pioneer in online education, IWU is proud to launch Fast Forward degree programs that expand access and accelerate opportunity for students. Our fast forward 90-hour degrees are both rooted and relevant. Rooted in our commitment to Christ-centered education, these programs develop students in character, scholarship, and leadership while remaining relevant to the rapidly changing workforce.”
The new Fast Forward online degree programs have been designed to be industry-relevant and career-focused, giving students the ability to enter into the workforce quickly and with the relevant skills for their chosen path. There are currently two degree programs available in the Fast Forward format: Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics and Bachelor of Education. The AI Analytics degree offers specialization opportunities in human resources, supply chain and logistics, and marketing, and the Education degree offers specializations in middle school science, secondary English language arts, and secondary mathematics.
Among the Fast Forward degree programs that are currently in development are Bachelor of AI Marketing, Bachelor of Applied Business, Bachelor of Human Services Leadership, Bachelor of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis, and Bachelor of Justice Leadership and Public Safety.
Students who participate in Fast Forward programs will also be eligible to earn stackable microcredentials and certificates throughout the experience, including in education, applied business functions, and AI foundations. Students will also be able to participate in virtual internships and connect with industry employers.
