The weekend courses will be introduced on the college’s North Davidson Campus.
Nashville State Community College is introducing a new way for students to pursue their education through Weekend College, which is launching at the college’s North Davidson Campus in August 2026. The Weekend College experience will make a college education more accessible to individuals who work during the week or those in need of more flexible scheduling. Students will be able to earn certificates and degrees in a number of academic areas.
According to an article on Nashville State Community College’s website, Dr. Justina Rogers, who serves as the director of the North Davidson Campus, was quoted as saying of the new experience, “Whether you’re starting college for the first time, a continuing student, returning after many years, or looking to advance your career, Weekend College is designed to help you upskill quickly, conveniently, and affordably. Nashville State is committed to meeting students where they are and helping them reach their goals.”
Weekend College will offer in-person courses on Saturdays, with some programs offering online courses or Friday options. The North Davidson Campus is the only campus of Nashville State Community College that will offer Weekend College. Students can participate in select degree or certificate programs, or can take single classes.
Students can enroll in the Associate of Science or Associate of Arts in Social Work program, which will take two years to complete through Weekend College. Another option is the Administrative Assistant Certificate, which students can complete in one and a half years. The final certificate option is the Retail Management Certificate, which can be completed in one year.
General education and single courses are also available during Weekend College. These options include Administrative Professional Technology, Biology, Business, Business Communications, Communications, Economics, English, History, Math, Music, NSCC1010, Philosophy, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
The Weekend College program is intended to increase access to a college education and help individuals become more successful in their careers.
