The partnership will strengthen the region’s workforce development, access to educational pathways, and support offered to adult learners.
Mount Vernon Nazarene University has formed a partnership with Career & Technology Education Centers (C-TEC) of Licking County that will support educational pathways and workforce development in the region. The Gateway Partnership will provide students, including adult learners, in the region with the opportunity to follow educational pathways from career or technical education into higher education, as well as support workforce development for local organizations and businesses.
According to an article on Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s website, Tavaris E. Taylor, who serves as the Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, was quoted as saying of the partnership, “We are excited to partner with such an innovative organization as C-TEC of Licking County. This partnership is truly transformative for Central Ohio. Superintendent Snow and her team have been outstanding collaborators as we work together to strengthen and expand educational pathways across the region.”
Echoing these sentiments, C-TEC Superintendent Michelle Snow said, “C-TEC is proud to partner with Mount Vernon Nazarene University to expand meaningful pathways for students and adult learners across Central Ohio. MVNU has been an exceptional collaborator, and together we are building opportunities that strengthen our workforce, elevate our region, and support the future talent needs of our communities.”
The Gateway Partnership will involve the university working with C-TEC to align their respective programs, creating more accessible transfer pathways for students to transfer from workforce or career education into higher education. The collaboration will also help local nonprofit organizations and businesses retain their employees and foster engagement.
