Cleary University forms articulation agreements with community colleges

The new articulation agreements will help students at Jackson College, Lansing Community College, and Montcalm Community College maximize their credits so they can transfer to Cleary University with junior standing.

Cleary University has formed new articulation agreements with three community colleges to help students maximize their credits and transfer into Cleary University in pursuit of a bachelor degree. The agreements are with Jackson College, Lansing Community College, and Montcalm Community College.

According to an article on Cleary University’s website, Jeremy Walker, who is the senior vice president of Enrollment Management at the university, was quoted as saying of the new agreements, “We find these agreements are a valuable resource for students. Our goal is to make the transition from community college to Cleary University as seamless, simple and affordable as possible. These students are looking forward to a bright and successful future, and we want to remove as many obstacles as we can to ensure their educational path at Cleary is smooth. That is why articulation agreements are so beneficial to students. They will know in advance what classes to take that will transfer to Cleary. Through our articulation agreements with these three community college partners, we mapped out in detail what transfer students need to know before enrolling at Cleary. We provided each school with a guide for completing necessary course requirements so students can maximize the credits they earn at their college and minimize duplication of coursework.”

The articulation agreements will help students at each of the three community colleges determine which of their classes are transferable to Cleary University, eliminating unwelcome surprises about credits not being applicable toward a bachelor degree.

The university estimates that transfer students on average may lose up to 40% of their credits when transferring from a community college to a four-year institution. Articulation agreements will make it easier for students to plan their credits and their transfer in order to maximize their savings, both in time and money.
