The newly renamed Paul & Pat Lingle Health Career Center honors the significant financial impact the Lingles have had on Ivy Tech Community College and on the region’s education in general.
Ivy Tech Community College has recently renamed one of the campus’ most important buildings to honor Paul and Pat Lingle, who have been financially supportive of the college for many years, as well as of the region’s education in general. The Paul & Pat Lingle Health Career Center is a space that helps prepare students for the transition from the classroom to the workforce, or to a four-year institution, through support services.
According to an article on Ivy Tech Community College’s website, Chad Bolser, who serves as the school’s Chancellor, was quoted as saying, “I want to thank Paul and Pat Lingle for their incredible support of Ivy Tech and the future of healthcare in our region. Thanks to their generosity, Ivy Tech continues to serve as the workforce engine not just for our five-county service area, but across the state of Indiana.”
The Lingles offered significant financial backing for the recent renovation of the school’s healthcare wing. The renovation included the construction of the new Debra Edelman Healthcare Education Center, which includes a simulation center, and the construction of new laboratories for the Pharmacy Technician and Paramedic Science programs. Along with helping to bring the renovations to fruition with their funding, the Lingles also received naming rights for the Paul & Pat Lingle Health Career Center.
The Paul & Pat Lingle Health Career Center will act as a transition space to help students make the leap from a community college to a four-year institution, or to a healthcare workplace. Students will have access to resources like job placement support, resume and interview coaching, career exploration resources, and resources to help explore further education options.
Brandi Jackson, the college’s Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Development, said, "The Lingles’ generous investment helps ensure that our students aren’t just getting a high-quality education - they’re being connected to the career opportunities that will keep them in our region and keep our communities healthy. This center is about more than education - it’s about long-term career success.”
