The new program is an enhanced and restructured version of the previous Project EXCEL program, which will now offer tiered support services to support student success.
Mount Saint Joseph University has restructured and relaunched its former Project EXCEL student academic support program to become the new Success+ program. Success+ will offer tiered support for students seeking academic assistance and a new social skills development initiative for neurodivergent students. Success+ will be part of the new Learning Commons umbrella of student support services, joining the former Learning Center and Student Accessibility Services departments.
According to an article on Mount Saint Joseph University’s website, Alexandria Grant, M.S., the director of Academic Support Services, was quoted as saying of the restructuring, "This rebrand represents a bold new era of student support, and I’m honored to be part of it. We have a fantastic team making this vision a reality. It’s more than a new name; we’re building a culture of care and belonging that grows with our students and sets them up for long-term success."
The support services through Success+ have been redesigned to meet a diverse set of student needs, including support for students who are neurodivergent or have learning disabilities. Students are encouraged to select a tier of support that best meets their support needs, and all participating students will receive one-on-one support from academic success tutors.
Services offered through Success+ include peer tutoring, writing support, academic coaching, accessibility services, professional support, executive function coaching, subject-specific tutoring, and strategy sessions.
