Terra State Community College and Bowling Green State University partner for 2+2 Transfer Pathway

The partnership will affect students who are pursuing engineering and manufacturing. Students from Terra State Community College can transfer their associate degree credits into Bowling Green State University’s College of Engineering and Innovation.

A new seamless transfer agreement has been established between Terra State Community College and Bowling Green State University. Announced on June 27, 2025, the partnership is a 2+2 transfer pathway for students who are pursuing studies in engineering or manufacturing, providing Terra State Community College students with the opportunity to seamlessly transfer their associate degree credits to Bowling Green State University to work toward a bachelor degree.

According to an article on Terra State Community College’s website, President Ronald Schumacher was quoted as saying of the benefits of the partnership, "By streamlining the transition from associate to bachelor's degrees, we are opening doors to incredible opportunities and ensuring that students receive top-tier education and hands-on experience. We are proud to collaborate with BGSU in empowering the next generation of engineers."

The 2+2 transfer pathway will see students taking their first two years of courses at Terra State Community College within the school’s technology and skilled trades programs. Once they earn an associate degree, they will seamlessly transfer to Bowling Green State University’s College of Engineering and Innovation, applying their associate degree credits toward a bachelor degree from BGSU. 

The eligible programs at Terra State Community College for the 2+2 transfer pathway are computer systems, construction technology, electricity, manufacturing engineering, power technologies, and digital media technology.

Students who transfer to Bowling Green State University to study in the College of Engineering and Innovation will be able to take advantage of the university’s new Technology Engineering Innovation Center, which is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2026.
