The college’s paramedic and EMT training programs will be available at two additional locations for the Fall 2025 semester, including the Bay College campus in Iron Mountain and in Luce County.
Bay College is expanding its Emergency Medical Services programs for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester. Beginning on August 25, students will be able to take the programs at two additional locations: the college’s campus in Iron Mountain and in Luce County, which has been made possible thanks to a partnership with the Luce County Ambulance Service.
According to an article on Bay College’s website, Dr. Amy Reddinger, who serves as the college’s Vice President of Academic Affairs and Educational Equity, was quoted as saying of the expansion, “Expanding our EMS offerings helps ensure that communities across our region have access to trained professionals who are prepared to respond in critical situations. This is a vital step toward strengthening emergency care and workforce readiness in the Upper Peninsula.”
While the expansion is still pending approval from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of EMS, Trauma and Preparedness (MDHHS-BETP), the move will make Emergency Medical Services training more accessible to more students, thereby improving the region’s access to quality emergency services.
Students who participate in the training at the Iron Mountain satellite site will receive increased opportunities for training, and students in Luce County will benefit from training conducted directly through a program with Luce County Ambulance Service, thanks to the organization’s partnership with Bay College.
