Philanthropist Robert Low donates $4 million to Bethel University

The donation is in honor of Low’s late mother, Vera Low, who served on the university’s Board of Trustees, as did Robert.

Bethel University has received a $4 million donation from philanthropist Robert Low to honor the legacy of his late mother Vera Low. The donation will be put to use in a number of ways at the university, all in pursuit of providing students with exceptional educational experiences and offering top-notch academic programs.

According to an article on Bethel University's website, Low said of his donation, "Bethel University held a special place in my mother’s heart. She had deep appreciation for this institution. It is a privilege to give back to Bethel, ensuring that future generations of students have access to opportunities —whether through scholarships, academic excellence or extracurricular activities."

Robert, a successful businessman and philanthropist, founded the company Prime Inc., which focuses on logistics and freight transport, in 1970. Both he and Vera at one time served as members of the Bethel University Board of Trustees, and both loved Bethel University deeply, which is what sparked the idea to make such a sizable donation to the institution.

Perry Moulds, the university’s president, was quoted as saying, “This incredible gift from Robert Low is a testament to the power of love, legacy, and belief in the mission of Bethel University. His generosity will help us advance our commitment to academic excellence and student success. We are deeply honored and grateful for his support.”
