Ohio Northern University partners with Columbus State Community College for engineering pathway

The articulation agreement will allow students with an associate degree in Systems Engineering from Columbus State Community College to transfer to Ohio Northern University to earn their bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ohio Northern University and Columbus State Community College have formed a three-year partnership that creates an engineering pathway via articulation agreement. The agreement gives students who earn an associate degree in Systems Engineering from Columbus State Community College the opportunity to follow a seamless pathway to finish up a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio Northern University.

According to an article on Ohio Northern University’s website, J-D Yoder, the dean of Ohio Northern University’s College of Engineering, was quoted as saying of the partnership, “We are thrilled about this partnership and look forward to welcoming Columbus State engineering graduates to our campus as they advance toward their educational goals. We are confident they will excel at ONU, benefiting from the personalized support, resources, and opportunities that will help them thrive here and in their careers.”

The partnership officially began on March 1 and will be in effect for three years. As per the agreement, individuals who obtain an Associate of Science in Systems Engineering from Columbus State Community College can seamlessly transfer to Ohio Northern University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Students will enter Ohio Northern University as juniors and will receive credit for relevant courses they took at Columbus State. The transfer process will ultimately save students time and money as they work toward a bachelor degree.
