The future health and wellness center has been made possible thanks to a donation from Margaret and Doyle Hartman of Dallas, Texas.
Siena Heights University has announced a new addition to campus: the Margaret and Doyle Hartman Center for Health and Wellness. Funding for the project has been provided via donation from Margaret and Doyle Hartman, who live in Dallas, Texas. The center will serve as a home for the university’s healthcare education and community wellness.
According to an article on Siena Heights University’s website, university president Dr. Douglas Palmer was quoted as saying, “The Margaret and Doyle Hartman Center for Health and Wellness is a win for all of us. We are pleased to grow our presence in the Adrian community. We will not only use this center to prep students for jobs but also offer community-based health and wellness programs for the betterment of the community. This is a milestone for Siena that is in full alignment with our mission.”
The Margaret and Doyle Hartman Center for Health and Wellness will occupy 11 acres on campus and the building itself will be 66,000 square feet. Many details about the building and the offerings and programs therein are still in development, but the center is planned to house the university’s healthcare academic programs, and will provide space for hands-on learning and research opportunities for students, as well as community wellness opportunities. Additionally, housed within the center will be the Gray Institute, which focuses on movement science, further expanding the research opportunities for students.
