Xavier University introduces new early action application for prospective students

Potential students who apply to Xavier University by November 1 will receive a response from the university by mid-December, helping students sort out their choices and make college decisions more quickly.

Xavier University has announced another new initiative aimed at helping students transition to academic life at the university easier than ever: early action applications. This new move will give students who apply early, by November 1, the advantage of learning the school’s decision by mid-December. This will make it easier and quicker for students to make decisions about the future of their college education.

According to an article on Xavier University’s website, Lauren Parcell, who serves as the school’s Dean of Admissions, expressed her excitement for this new policy and what it means for students. She is quoted as saying, “I am so excited to give more students the opportunity to call this University home through our new practices. Our early action plan grants high school students and their families more clarity and certainty in planning their future and navigating the decision process. At Xavier, we are continuously evaluating and fine-tuning our approach to help more students connect with us and find their perfect college fit.”

This new early decision and priority enrollment initiative is meant to help students feel less stressed about deciding what college to attend, as well as more confident as they begin their education. The early decision is also applicable to competitive academic programs like nursing, an additional benefit to students who are intending to pursue healthcare careers. Students who need more time to fill out their applications are still welcome to use the standard application deadline of February 1.

“Taking charge of your life’s journey includes choosing where and when to apply to college. Xavier has made it simple to apply, find out early, and start your next path with confidence. This new approach benefits our entire community, enhancing the admission process for our students while strengthening the University’s ability to live out its Jesuit Catholic mission grounded in academic excellence to educate the whole person. I am thrilled to offer this early admission invitation and welcome future Musketeers to the Xavier family,” said Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management Scott Clyde.

This new policy has been put into effect shortly after Xavier University announced that it would be guaranteeing the transfer of at least 36 semester hours of coursework from participating colleges and universities in the state of Ohio, as well as high school credit that was earned through College Credit Plus. Together, these two initiatives aim to make the decision to choose Xavier University simple for students.
