The partnership positions the two institutions to collaborate on a number of initiatives aimed at increasing access to healthcare in the region.
Ballet dancers can enroll in both the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School Trainee Program in New York City for dance training and The University of Akron to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance.
The Teddy Sharik Memorial Scholarship will honor the memory of Teddy Sharik, a local Deaf man, who passed away from cancer in 2023.
The Cardiac Sonography program will be available beginning June 10. When the north end of the new healthcare education center opens in the Fall 2024 semester, the Cardiac Sonography program will move there.
The new scholarship program is called “Create Your Possible: Sherwin-Williams Career Accelerator.”
The initiatives include a Tuition Match program, a Teach Now program, and a Preferred Pathway program.
The Bruce E. Livingston Endowed Medical Scholarship will support students who are enrolled in the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University.
Currently, Andrews University is the only university in Michigan to have received the designation.
The BRIDGE UP program is an effort to improve and expand mental health care options in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The agreement will allow for the seamless transition from NMC to LSSU for students who want to pursue engineering.
