Grand Rapids Community College recently added a new soccer program and has since attached two coaches to the team: Lizzy Hornack, a Davenport University grad, and Damiekco Smith, who holds master’s degrees from University of Michigan-Flint and Bowling Green.

The Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees has approved a $7.7 million budget for the renovation of South Campus. The loan is to be paid over the next 40 years at 3.5% interest.

Jefferson Community and Technical College administrators recently met with counselors from several Jefferson County Public Schools to talk about the programs that could open up higher education to opportunities to students who normally wouldn’t have as many pathways.

The Pathfinder Pantry at Hopkinsville Community College is set to benefit from a $32,310 grant from Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland. The grant was awarded to Hopkinsville Community College Foundation, Inc.

The U.S. Department of Education will fund a new program at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College aimed at helping 60 high schoolers a year find post-high school education and jobs.
