The Pathfinder Pantry at Hopkinsville Community College is set to benefit from a $32,310 grant from Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland. The grant was awarded to Hopkinsville Community College Foundation, Inc.

The U.S. Department of Education will fund a new program at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College aimed at helping 60 high schoolers a year find post-high school education and jobs.

Eastern Kentucky University’s Training Institute that started in 2003 has been renewed by the U.S. Department of Labor. The site serves an eight-state region and is one of 26 such centers in the country.

A new building is under construction at Bluegrass Community and Technical College’s Newton North Campus. The building will be the home of several of the school’s programs such as their Dental Hygiene program.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College held a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 7 for its new East Kentucky Oral Health Training Center, which will be the home for the school’s Dental Assisting/Dental Hygiene Integrated Program.

NASA employee and author Les Johnson will hold a lecture at Ashland Community and Technical College on November 4, as well as Highlands Museum on November 5.

Vincennes University has received just over half a million dollars from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for its healthcare training programs.

Purdue University Fort Wayne announced that it will be offering a certificate in cultural resource management through its department of anthropology and sociology. The program will train students to identify and investigate cultural resources as well as plans for their use, curation, and preservation.

Ivy Tech honored Union Health with its 2022 Outstanding Alumni Employer Award. The award is for local employers who work well with Ivy Tech at creating pathways to employment for its graduating students.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College holds a breast cancer 5K to honor survivors of the second most common cancer.
