Guichun Han, Ph.D. has received $154,000 to conduct research on the effects of estrogen on the risk of heart disease and stroke.
The reverse vending machines are the latest additions to the university’s sustainability efforts. Placed near traditional vending machines, the reverse vending machines allow students to recycle their plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
The funding comes from UofL Health, Owensboro Health, and a grant from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education’s Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund in support of nursing education.
