Average Annual Cost

The average annual net price that a student who receives federal financial aid pays to cover expenses (e.g. tuition, living expenses, etc.) to attend the school's largest program. Net price is the program's cost of attendance minus any grants and scholarships received. For public schools, this is only the average cost for in-state students. Negative cost values indicate that the average grant/scholarship aid exceeded the cost of attendance.

About Polaris Career Center

Polaris Career Center, opened in 1975, strives to inspire students to achieve success in their future careers. The center has 12 career training programs for its adult students.

Polaris Career Center offers the following healthcare-related courses:

Dental Assisting

The Dental Assisting program at Polaris Career Center is held in a state-of-the-art lab to help prepare students for entry-level dental assisting jobs. Among the topics covered in the course are dental specialties, dental competencies, and employability skills. Students will also have an externship experience. Following the program, students can test for certification.

Medical Assisting

Polaris Career Center's Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare students for the clinical and administrative duties of a medical assistant. Students will be instructed on topics like urinalysis, electronic health records, and administration procedures. The program includes an externship, and after completing the program, students can test for certification.

Medical Billing and Coding

The Medical Billing and Coding program at Polaris Career Center will prepare students to work in healthcare offices in a variety of capacities. Students will learn CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and HCPCS coding, as well as hospital billing, reimbursement, and healthcare law and ethics. After completing the courses, students should feel prepared to take the Certified Professional Coder exam.

At the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, 20 students participating in various programs at Polaris Career Center took home top spots in several competitions.
