The goal of the Dental Assisting program at TCAT Knoxville is to prepare students for entry-level work on a dental team and for taking the Dental Assisting National Board Exam. Students will learn skills like recordkeeping, assisting with procedures, and preparing patients for exams.
The Medical Assisting program at Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is a 12-month program that aims to prepare students to become an entry-level medical assistant. Students will learn how to perform both administrative and clinical tasks, like taking vital signs, drawing blood, and scheduling appointments. The program combines classroom and clinical work, and students will have the opportunity for supervised clinical work in local medical facilities.
