Gogebic Community College is a public community college in Ironwood, Michigan. Originally established in 1932 as Ironwood Junior College, GCC offers a variety of associate's degrees and vocational career training programs from its two campuses in Ironwood and Houghton, Michigan.

Medical Assisting
Gogebic Community College offers a full time certificate program for Medical Assisting. It runs two consecutive semesters, with the practicum experience running in the summer semester. The program begins each August and classes are held on the main campus in Ironwood with some online classes. Practicum sites are located in Ironwood and the surrounding areas.
Medical Coding and Billing Specialist
The online Medical Coding and Billing Specialist program prepares students for entry-level positions in the healthcare industry performing medical coding and processing health care insurance claims. Medical coders and billing specialists play a vital role in the financial viability of any healthcare organizations. Medical Coding and Billing Specialists are employed in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and health insurance companies, just to name a few. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to write for a national examination.
Practical Nursing
The nursing program gives you a wide variety of hands-on nursing experiences. Employers recognize GCC graduates as nurses who are well trained to care for patients right out of school.

Patritto is an alumnus of Gogebic Community College and will become the school’s tenth president, effective January 2, 2024.
Michigan’s state budget has allowed for a partnership between Gogebic Community College and Northern Michigan University to allow nursing students to earn bachelor’s degrees without leaving the GCC campus.
