Average Annual Cost
The average annual net price that a student who receives federal financial aid pays to cover expenses (e.g. tuition, living expenses, etc.) to attend the school's largest program. Net price is the program's cost of attendance minus any grants and scholarships received. For public schools, this is only the average cost for in-state students. About Delta College
Delta College is a public college which was originally founded in 1961. Delta's main campus is located in University Center, Michigan while three separate regional extension centers are operated in Bay City, Midland, and Saginaw, Michigan.
Delta College offers the following healthcare-related courses:
Dental Assisting
As a graduate of this program, you will be prepared to assist the dentist in diagnostic, operative, restorative, preventive and surgical procedures, as well as perform independent duties once you pass the registered dental assistant exam.
Health Foundations Advanced Certificate
The Health Foundations Advanced Certificate was designed to offer you a broad knowledge base in applied healthcare. Upon completion, you will have the ability to take the State examination to become a Certified Nursing Assistant which can lead to employment in acute or long-term care facilities.
Phlebotomy Technician
Delta's Phlebotomy Technician job training program prepares you to work in a clinical setting as a phlebotomist in accordance with procedures established by the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards. Diagnostic techniques, clinical laboratory technology and automated instruments have greatly increased the volume of, and demand for, medical laboratory testing performed by phlebotomists.
Nursing Assistant
This program, and all CNA programs, are regulated by the Federal and State governments, which require all programs to focus on the long-term care facility setting. The government also requires every CNA program to be a minimum of 75 hours in length. Our program is 116 hours long.
Practical Nurse
This program is approximately one year in length. The Delta College PN program is excellent at preparing students to sit for the LPN State Board Exam with an exceptionally high pass rate. Once a student has graduated and received their State Board of Nursing license to be a licensed Practical Nurse, they can work in a variety of settings such as acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, doctor office and home health care. The practical nurse assists physicians and registered nurses in the development and modification of patient care plans, performs basic tests, and assists with medications and other treatments.
Recent news about Delta College
The grant comes from the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education Advancement and Potential’s Student Success Grant program.
Delta College will hold an event for students, staff, faculty, and members of the community to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and more activities to promote democratic engagement from September 16 through September 19.
The two schools signed an agreement on August 8 that will give students the ability to attain their associate degree from Delta College and transfer their credits toward a bachelor degree from Saginaw Valley State University.
The League for Innovation in the Community College recently awarded Delta College the 2022-2023 Innovation of the Year award for the school’s web-based audiovisual platform for the health profession.
Delta College’s Downtown Midland Center has received a gold Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Certification.
The new satellite campus of Delta College is in the final stages of construction and students can now begin enrolling for fall classes in seven different programs.
Climate Action Pursuit by Second Nature is a year-long program that encourages faculty and staff to participate in mini conferences to learn about climate issues and bring what they have learned back to campus to shape sustainability practices.
A new scholarship will be available to eligible Delta College students, in honor of long-time Delta educator and community member Mary Jane Cooper.
Delta College has been recognized for the fourth year in a row for its efforts in sustainability by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability Higher Education. Multiple efforts and projects were recognized, earning Delta a Silver Award.
