The career-focused Licensed Practical Nursing program at South College prepares students to become entry-level practical nurses in any healthcare setting. Students will learn the necessities of practical nursing, such as practicing confidentiality, identifying common health problems, and practicing good communication skills. Students who complete the program can take the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN).
South College offers both a certificate and degree Medical Assistant program, both of which will prepare students for a career in medical assisting. The college's 1 + 1 program will allow students who take the certificate program to continue on into the degree program. Students will learn laboratory testing, administrative skills, and examining patients.
South College offers an immersive Occupational Therapy Assistant program that will challenge students and help them become qualified to be an entry-level occupational therapy assistant. The program will instruct students in professionalism, clinical reasoning, and interpersonal skills. Students may take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam upon completing the program.
