Miami Valley Career Technology Center offers the following healthcare-related courses:

Dental Assisting

Students in the Dental Assisting program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center will learn to perform the various tasks and duties of an entry-level dental assistant. Students will learn to schedule patients' appointments, perform x-rays, and sterilize equipment. Those who successfully complete the program can take the CODA certification exam.

Medical Assisting Technology

The Medical Assisting Technology program trains students to become competent entry-level medical assistants. Students will be trained to handle administrative and clerical tasks like administering injections, performing EKG, and scheduling appointments. After completing the program, students will be eligible to test for several certifications.

Practical Nursing

The 12-month Practical Nursing program at MVCTC will prepare students to become licensed practical nurses. Following completing the program, students will take the NCLEX-PN exam to earn their credential. Throughout the program, students will take courses like Body Structure and Function, Nursing Ethics Issues and Trends, and Growth and Development.

Veterinary Assistant

Students in the Veterinary Assistant program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center will become prepared to work as entry-level veterinary assistants. Among the courses students will take are Animal Behavior and Handling, Infection Control, and Nutrition for Cats and Dogs.

Miami Valley Career Technology Center is adding a Registered Nurse Diploma program to their roster of healthcare classes. Students with an LPN license can sign up for a twelve month, fifty week program in MVCTC’s adult education division.
