Medical Assisting - Certificate/Associate of Applied Science Degree

Cuyahoga Community College offers two Medical Assisting programs, one awarding a certificate, and one awarding an associate of applied science degree. Both programs instruct students on the administrative and clinical duties taken on by an entry-level medical assistant. Students will learn skills like scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and assisting doctors during appointments. After completing their program, students may test for certification.

Medical Billing Specialist - Certificate

The Medical Billing Specialist Certificate program is a short-term program that aims to get students into an entry-level position in medical billing. Students will learn important skills such as medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and reimbursement practices.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology program at Cuyahoga Community College is designed to prepare students for working under a registered occupational therapist. Students will learn how to help their patients perform their daily routines. After the program, students will be eligible to take the NBCOT exam.

Pharmacy Technology - Certificate

The Pharmacy Technology certificate program at Cuyahoga Community College prepares students to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. Students will learn important pharmacy skills like inventory control, maintaining records, and labeling medications. The program aims to train students in preparation for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination.

Veterinary Technology - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Veterinary Technology program aims to prepare students to become an entry-level veterinary technician who assists the veterinarian in a variety of aspects. Students will learn skills such as pharmacology, animal surgery, and maintaining equipment. After successfully completing the program, students will be eligible to take the VTNE.
