Students from Somerset Community College wanting to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration now have an easier pathway to that goal thanks to a transfer agreement with Lindsey Wilson College.
A Memorandum of Understanding signed by both Somerset Community College and Lindsey Wilson College (LWC), through University Center of Southern Kentucky (UCSK), will provide a pathway for students in business, accounting, and management to easily transfer between the schools to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Another Memorandum of Understanding will allow Somerset students to utilize admissions, registration, academic advising, and library services at LWC.
A news release from Somerset that announced the agreements states that LWC is a long-standing partner of Somerset and that the transfer agreement will serve students by establishing clear pathways to continuing their education after earning an associate degree. Dr. Trish Parrish, LWC vice president of Academic Affairs, commented, "I value the partnership Lindsey Wilson College has with Somerset Community College and its University Partnership Center. Our new agreement for business programs is very exciting because it provides a new avenue for serving students and building the capacity of our community."
Trent Pool, Director of the UCSK, also applauded the agreement, saying, "We appreciate President Luckey, Dr. Patricia Parrish, and Dr. Michael Seale for their commitment to developing pathways for students in the Somerset Community College region. Dr. Parrish said it ideally, 'We need to serve students!' Lindsey Wilson College has been a long-standing partner of SCC, and a great partner in the UCSK at SCC. We look forward to future developments in new pathways that benefit SCC students, LWC, and the workforce in our communities."
