Students transferring to Western Governors University from Blue Ridge CTC will have access to special scholarships and clear pathways to pursuing Bachelor's degrees in business, healthcare, and information technology.

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College has signed a memorandum of understanding agreement with Western Governors University to ease the transfer process for graduates who choose to pursue a degree with WGU in business, healthcare, or information technology, according to an article published by The Journal News. The agreement will make special scholarships available to Blue Ridge CTC graduates and offer clear pathways to a four-year degree through WGU's online programs.

WGU Regional Vice President Alison Bell told The Journal News, "At WGU, we aim to develop meaningful partnerships with community colleges and are privileged to have this new partnership with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College as we share a commitment to providing seamless opportunities for students who are looking to transfer between colleges. We look forward to continued growth and collaboration in West Virginia to help students pursuing IT degrees fulfill their full potential and eliminate barriers in the transfer process."

Representatives from Blue Ridge CTC also spoke with The Journal News, including Cybersecurity Program Coordinator Kay Ogilvie and Blue Ridge CTC President, Dr. Peter Checkovich.

Ogilvie looks forward to seeing the results of the partnership, saying, "Blue Ridge CTC is excited about the advantages and benefits this new articulation agreement with WGU brings to our students and staff.
